It’s been a while since my last blog post, not because I haven’t wanted to but because I just haven’t had the time to gather my thoughts and put them on paper. This summer has gone by so fast between kids, sports, friends, the shop and everything in between. But it’s finally feeling a bit like Fall and so I am feeling the need to get back into the swing of things. So here I am. This summer has been crazy. Like, no idea where I’m going to be at the end of the day, crazy. The kids are little people now and love being involved in everything. And as I’ve been running them around, I’ve realized how much I enjoy being with them. That may sound weird because, of course I have always loved them but this is the first year that I’ve felt like I know who they are as individuals. So what does this mean exactly? Well, for me, it meant that I had to reassess how I spend my time and learn to become more flexible. This is a hard lesson for me because am not a flexible person by nature. In fact, I like control. A LOT. I like to know what’s going to happen, be prepared and have a plan for every possible scenario and I LOVE my work. But control had no place in my life this summer. This summer was about chaos, having fun within the chaos, making memories and taking time for friends. And we did have a lot of fun!!! But like everything, you can’t do it all and in the midst of all of this fun and craziness, I let some of my work go- at least a bit. And that’s okay. Now that the summer is coming to an end, I have been thinking about how much I’ve gained by letting some things go (ironic right?). This season has taught me some much-needed lessons about how much we can experience when we let life just happen and let ourselves get lost in the days. So, I’m back now and I look forward to catching up with you- there's so much to talk about. Stay tuned... Best, Andrea
